Digital Knowledge Test: What do I need?

You will need to bring the following

  • Some form of Photo ID (WA State ID or Instruction Permit, Passport, School ID, Tribal ID, etc. Check with the DOL for more specific information)

  • Your WA State DLN/WDL#, if you do not have a WA State ID or Instruction Permit

  • Your Login Information (Saved to your browser) for your FINISHED License eXpress Account

  • ​A tablet or a laptop computer that you can bring in for your test

WE WILL PROVIDE A WI-FI CONNECTION FOR YOUR TEST.

If you do not already have a License eXpress account, click below to sign-up (Save your login info for later)

If the sign-up page asks if you have a "driving record," answer "Yes" if you have had a WA State ID or an Instruction Permit currently or in the past.

What to study

Study the WA State Driver Guide book for the best information. Avoid online "practice tests," as they've caused many applicants to fail. The online tests are very inaccurate compared to the actual Knowledge Exam, and they are not affiliated with the Department of Licensing.

Scheduling

All testing is done by appointment only! Please call or visit to set up an appointment.
The cost is $35 per attempt at the Knowledge Test. We have the test available in Spanish as well.
Please note that we will not be able to get you in for the Skills Test on the same day as your Knowledge Test.
